The Role 

A brand new role has just been created within the IT Department at Sydney Catholic Schools. The Specialist: Digital Records Management role is responsible for managing the electronic records for Sydney Catholic Schools and maintaining the information management system. As a specialist, you will provide consultancy and coaching to the enterprise concerning records management to enable business units to identify risks and implement processes and controls to manage their records effectively.

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for:

  • planning and implementing actions as outlined in the Sydney Catholic Schools Information Management and Governance Strategy
  • designing and implementing document control procedures, the SCS Information and Records Management Policy, and supporting documents
  • responsible for managing documents, controlled processes in a standardised manner
  • working closely with leadership and relevant teams within the organisation to establish the roles and responsibilities of information custodians and acting as a focal point for incoming and outcoming documents
  • advising on using digital and other record management systems and record forms and the control of access to confidential information, and recommending record access procedures, as appropriate
  • promoting and abiding by Sydney Catholic Schools’ values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration, and truth.

The Person 

The successful candidate will have attained the following:

  • minimum of five years of experience in information and records management, digital document control, and records management applications
  • TAFENSW/College certificate III/IV or equivalent qualification in administration, project management or related field
  • expertise in Business Classification Schemes and Record Retention policies
  • demonstrated experience maintaining a Records Asset Register
  • strong attention to detail
  • strong communication skills.
