Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher who is ready for an exciting challenge as we open our new specialist provision at Tudor Grange Academy Redditch. The school has an existing successful mainstream autism base and this brand new facility will extend and enhance existing provision in order to meet the needs of secondary students with more complex social communication and interaction difficulties.

The successful applicant will be involved in the development of an autism-appropriate curriculum with high quality learning opportunities to meet and challenge the academic needs of our students, and also their social and emotional needs. Experience in working with and meeting the needs of children and young people with autism and complex social communication and interaction difficulties is essential and you must be able to deliver appropriate sessions and interventions, as well as assess and track progress. You will lead a small team, working closely with other staff and external agencies, as well as families, to share practice, knowledge and skills and ensure bespoke support and intervention is in place.

As part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust we offer first-class career opportunities within our diverse portfolio of schools and excellent CPD.  We actively place staff wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.  Our staff are our single biggest asset, and the success of our students depends on them.  So we take care of, and invest in them, properly! You will work alongside people who are passionate about what they do, who want to make a positive difference to children’s lives, and can help us stretch and support children to achieve beyond expectation. Additionally, working in a multi-academy trust offers the potential for collaboration and leadership across our other schools, as well as large scale Trust Insets with opportunities to network and share best practice and resources across the Tudor Grange family of schools. Excellent teaching and learning is at the heart of all that we do.

If you feel that you have the necessary attributes and skills and are a suitably qualified, highly motivated professional, then we would like to hear from you. To find out more about the Academy please visit our website: www.redditch.tgacademy.org.uk

All applications are considered on their merit and the post is offered subject to the usual health and criminal record clearance. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Informal visits and conversations about the post are most welcome. Please contact Clare Waterhouse via email at cwaterhouse@tgacademy.org.uk

Completed applications to be returned to Dot Green via email at dgreen@tgacademy.org.uk

Values and vision

Tudor Grange Academy Redditch guides its students with its core values: tolerance, unity, democracy, opportunity and respect, which promote a sense of citizenship. The Worcestershire school focuses on meeting the needs of individuals and constantly aspires to raise standards. The school wants students to take pride in themselves and the school community, and respect one another at all times. Students are encouraged to get involved with all aspects of school life and a wide selection of extra-curricular activities are organised, including an active Student Council where skills in leadership and democracy are developed.

Ofsted

“Students engage very well in lessons. Their attitudes to learning are highly positive and they have high expectations of themselves. They concentrate well and participate in the activities their teachers present to them. Disruption in lessons is very rare. Students feel safe in school. They are taught how to keep themselves safe in a range of situations, for example when using the internet or electronic communications. The school prepares its students well for the next stage in their education or employment and provides them with appropriate independent advice and guidance. Students new to the school settle quickly because there are effective arrangements in place with the feeder middle schools”.
