The British Primary School of Wilanow (BSW) is seeking to appoint an exceptional Sport Coordinator with the ability to teach KS1-KS4 PE and lead Middle and Upper School Games. The successful candidate would deliver high quality and inspiring PE and Games lessons across the school (Y1-Y9) and would actively promote Sport through extra-curricular activities and competitions. BSW serves Warsaw's international community by delivering world-class, value-based education and is a fully compliant member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), the first school in Poland to complete this accreditation. This role is for an August 2019 start.

The School

The British Primary School of Wilanow offers a strong British education, founded in the National Curriculum for England and enhanced to meet the requirements of the Polish Education Ministry. It is located in the upscale Warsaw suburb of Wilanow, where old meets new and city meets country. The historical Royal Wilanow overlooks new, stylish cafes and shops as well as leafy green fields and woods.

The Primary School opened in Autumn 2014, in purpose-built accommodation on a charming greenfield site, with a handful of Nursery-age children. Numbers for 18-19 have grown to around 200 pupils and there are waiting lists in most yeargroups. It is predicted that the school will reach 250 pupils by September 2019.

BSW boasts a purpose built Early Years and a Lower, Middle and Upper School section. Its classrooms are spacious, bright and well equipped with interactive white-boards, modern furnishings and air conditioning. The outdoor facilities include two playgrounds, a football field and there are ambitious plans for further sports facilities both indoor and outdoor. In Early 2019 BSW will expand to add 6 new classrooms and a Computing Suite.

We are strongly committed to the highest standards of education and have already hosted an Advisory Visit from the ISI Consultancy. BSW is also a Compliant Member of COBIS, having undergone a successful inspection in May 2018, which awarded Compliant Status. The School is an independent organisation, not a part of any group of schools.

The Role

Due to expansion, we are looking for British-qualified and experienced Sports Coordinator to join our Middle Leadership Team, from August 2019.

Our teachers have formed a strong team, demonstrating flexibility, creativity and flair; we need new members who are every bit as willing to play a full part in helping to develop the ethos, character and structures of an ambitious, values-based school. We have a clear philosophy of education centred on our Walk of the Lion which values Respect, Courage, Cooperation, Consideration and Noble.

Our teachers are hard working and passionate about education. They set high expectations with regards to the progress of all pupil and are effective and supportive members of the whole school team. At BSW teachers endeavour to place the school values at the heart of everything we do.

BSW has a rich programme of outdoor learning and sports and our teachers play a full part in the cultural, educational and extra-curricular life of the school.

The Candidate

We are seeking applicants with UK teaching qualifications (PGCE or B.Ed.) and experience of working with the English National curriculum in the UK or in an international setting.

The ideal candidate will lead on Sport and PE and achieve ambitious targets and goals in this area. They would be prepared to support the school from a middle leadership position, demonstrating strong and admirable leadership qualities and take an active part in furthering the Sport ethos of the School and advising SLT on new facilities and builds. They will also actively develop the PE curriculum that encompasses KS1-KS4.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to educational excellence, creative, energetic, flexible and genuinely respectful of students, staff, parents and the wider community.
