Percy Shurmer Academy is a large two form entry primary academy. We currently have 440 pupils aged from 3 to 11 which also includes 29 children in our Nursery and 11 hearing impaired pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). The school is divided into Nursery and Reception (EYFS), Years 1 – 2 (KS1) and Years 3-6 (KS2). We also have Infant and Junior playgrounds plus separate playgrounds for Nursery and Reception children.
We are excited to announce a new role within our school! For the first time we are looking to recruit a Part - Time Sports coach. Although only a part time role, it is a very important position within the school and will allow the successful candidate a chance to fully take part in the development of the school and yet support a good work life balance.
The role of sports coach is a high profile one and we are seeking an inspirational sports person and leader. You will be an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated teacher of PE with an ability to teach a variety of sports and have a proven track record as a games player or coach. We are interested in promoting gymnastics, dance, netball, cricket, basketball, athletics, multi sports or tennis, and you must hold a level 2 qualification in one sport and a level 1 qualification in at least two other sports.
Finally in our school, stamina, resilience and a good sense of humour are also key attributes, as well as ensuring the sports provision we give is the best for our children.
