  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

St John's College is located on the Sunshine Coast in the hinterland town of Nambour. We are seeking a suitably qualified education professional to complete a fixed term contract for the 2019 academic year. The role requires expertise in the curriculum areas of Humanities (including both Junior History and Geography) and Religious Education. An ability to teach English would also be beneficial. Applications are due by 9.00am Monday, October 15, 2018.

St John's College is a Catholic secondary learning community established by the Good Samaritan Sisters in 1940. The successful applicant will:
(a) Have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
(b) Have accreditation, or be eligible for accreditation, to teach Religion in a Catholic School;
(c) Be willing to participate in College events and activities;
(d) Be flexible and forward thinking in their approach to classrooms;
(e) Be fully conversant with current best practice in learning and teaching. For BCE employees, this is demonstrated practice and understanding of the Expected and Effective Practices of the BCE Model of Pegadogy. For all other applicants, this is demonstrated knowledge and application of the model of pedagogy used in their school and an understanding of the BCE Model of Pedagogy.
