Terra Nova is embarking on a new and exciting phase of its curriculum development. We are looking to further enhance and develop a core set of skills within our student body that are needed both for success at school and beyond. Skills of resilience, problem solving, creativity and the ability to transfer skills will make this position unique within our community. Our STEM teacher will be a pivotal person in linking with our specialist IT, Art, Science and Mathematics teachers.

Whilst we are looking for a STEM teacher we are specifically looking for someone with a bias towards engineering or D&T. This role is open to both primary and secondary specialists.

Terra Nova School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check.

About Terra Nova School

The School

Terra Nova is a leading Prep School for children age 2.5 to 13 years old. It is predominantly a day school, but offers an extended day in which children can stay for supervised Prep, tea, evening activities and overnight. There is, therefore, a thriving boarding community throughout the week.

From your very first visit, you will recognise that there is something special about Terra Nova School, with its successful blend of traditional values and fresh thinking and its wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere.

At Terra Nova we firmly believe that children who are happy and inspired succeed. Our broad curriculum, exceptional pastoral care and nurturing environment ensure that our children are both happy and inspired, and that they each develop their individual strengths.

For all at Terra Nova, academic success and good character are integral goals and in their attainment our children benefit from small classes, superb facilities and talented teachers. We are proud of the fact our children gain entrance to a wide range of the UK’s top independent schools and proud to say that their success thereafter is in no small part attributable to their fine start.

The children here take part in a wide variety of co-curricular activities and they each get the opportunity to participate in an array of sports, helping them to learn the importance of teamwork, build resilience and win and lose graciously. Throughout their time at the school, children are encouraged to try new experiences and take risks, which helps to build their self confidence, ignite passions and make lifelong friends.

We are fierce advocates of the traditional prep school model that allows our children to study with us until 13, preserving childhood until they reach their teens. However, whether leaving us at 13+ or at 11+, by the time our children move on to their senior school they are assured, motivated young people, well prepared to thrive and deal with the excitements and challenges that lie ahead.

I encourage you to come and visit us in our magnificent 35 acre rural setting, across from the awe-inspiring, internationally renowned Lovell Telescope, so that you can see for yourself what makes Terra Nova such an outstanding school.
