We are recruiting for Study Supervisors to join us as soon as possible as new additions to the team of staff. The key responsibilities of the role are to supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher with particular regard to student safety, behaviour and completion of the work set by the teacher. Duties will include general supervision, the delivering and assisting of completing work set and managing behaviour of students in accordance with the policies of the school. Daily lunch time supervision duties are also required. Subject to demand for covering lessons the successful candidate will also be required to work in class supporting the learning of students as an LSA. It is preferable that applicants are able to demonstrate previous success of working with secondary school age students. This may include previous experience of working in a secondary school classroom environment or working with young people in the community. Induction and training will be offered. The successful applicant will be able to: quickly build positive professional relationships with students; successfully supervise classes and comply with all relevant school Policies and procedures. Good IT skills are essential as this is how much of the students work is set; registers are taken and internal communication occurs. Candidates must be flexible, resilient and able to supervise subjects across the curriculum, including outdoor sports.
Applicants should have good qualifications at least to GCSE level (or equivalent) and good written English. This is an ideal post for someone who already has experience of working with young people and those considering a career in teaching. The working hours for this post are currently 8:30am – 3:20pm. These are non –negotiable. There are two breaks in the day.
