Subject Leader for Chemistry

From September 2018

Stonar School is one of the UK’s leading co-educational day and boarding schools for pupils aged 3 – 18. As one of 24 schools in the NACE Group worldwide, Stonar has a global, educational perspective, yet it is located in stunning grounds in the Wiltshire countryside just eight miles from the centre of the city of Bath and within easy reach of the M4 corridor. Pupils regularly achieve excellent results, which are beyond expectations both academically and personally.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic teacher of chemistry to join a well-established science department. Chemistry at Stonar is a thriving subject at GCSE and A level. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Science to promote the study and enjoyment of science throughout the school; to lead in the teaching and learning of chemistry up to and including A Level; and, to teach biology and physics to KS3. A willingness and ability to teach one other science to GCSE level will be an advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified teacher to join a successful, well-resourced department and to work with enthusiastic, positive pupils.

A willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of this busy boarding school is required.
