Subject Leader for Modern Foreign Languages

St Joseph's Catholic High SchoolWorkington, Cumbria

The Governors of St Joseph's Catholic High School are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational  Subject Leader for Modern Foreign Languages from September 2021.

St Joseph's was given a Good in Ofsted 2016 and has improved further since that inspection.  We are a happy school with students who are well-mannered and welcoming. Our systems for behaviour and student support ensure that this remains the case and we work very hard to maintain our standards of behaviour for learning, dress and attendance.

Languages are taught from Year 7 to 11.  In Year 7, students are taught French or Spanish (this alternates year on year).  Our students continue to study their Year 7 language throughout Years 8 and 9.  French and/or Spanish are offered as an option at GCSE.  We use the AQA GCSE specifications.
