St Anne’s is a Roman Catholic High School with Christ at the centre of all that it is and does.  Our size is to our advantage - our students are all known extremely well because of the community feel, rooted in Gospel Values.  We welcome those of all faiths and none through our doors.

Our new Headteacher would welcome applications from talented and ambitious candidates to lead and Art department with good attainment and progress from the GCSE results for summer 2019.

The successful candidate will also benefit from:

• A supportive and nurturing environment in a Catholic setting

• Colleagues on a teaching staff who are passionate about St Anne’s

• Students who are polite, kind and enthusiastic

St. Anne’s is on an exciting journey and we are seeing rapid improvements in all aspects of our school life including the attendance and outcomes of our students.  We strive for improvement on a daily basis and would welcome a candidate who is similarly committed.

If you are excited by challenges, can work effectively as part of a team and are dedicated to making a tangible difference to the lives of the young people with whom you work, then your application will be warmly welcomed.

Our strong Catholic Ethos at St Anne’s means we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

On behalf of our students, thank you for your interest in our school.

St Anne’s RC was designated as a Media Arts Specialist School in the summer of 2009. The departments that lead our Specialism are Art, Drama and ICT.

As an Arts college, we aim to raise standards of achievement and the quality of learning in all our Media subjects, for all students, leading to whole school improvement in performance.

We endeavour to nurture in our students, a lifelong passion for, and appreciation of, the arts as both participants and discriminating audiences.

As an Arts college we look for new ways to enhance the learning experience, with an understanding that our Specialism can improve learning in other curriculum areas. Where appropriate our students visit galleries, theatres and others sites of interest. We will enable our students to work in school with professionals involved in the arts and creative industries and to enjoy artistic experiences inside and outside the classroom.

We continue to develop our partnerships with local primary schools, businesses and our wider community.

Here at St Anne’s RC, we try to maximise the opportunities for young people to achieve in the arts and gain access to employment, further training and higher education in the arts. We will continue to unlock the potential of technology and promote a culture of innovation in our school. We aim to ensure that every child achieves and is positioned for success in life.
