Freebrough Academy was established in September 2010 and was graded as Good by Ofsted in 2015. No longer requiring a sponsor, Freebrough Academy was fundamental in establishing Teesside Learning Trust, a Multi Academy Trust which was established on 1st September 2016, comprising of two Primary Academies in Redcar and Cleveland, and two Secondary Academies, Thornaby Academy in Stockton and Freebrough Academy in Redcar and Cleveland, we are at an exciting point in our development as a Trust.
Led by a strong and effective Board of Trustees, Teesside Learning Trust is ambitious for all of our students and is keen to establish itself as a centre of excellence in the North East region. Subject Leader – Modern Foreign Languages TLR2b (ref 1802-FR)
Salary: Teachers Main Scale or UPS plus TLR2b £4,441 plus retention payment of £1000 after 12 and 24 months

We are looking to appoint an ambitious and talented languages Teacher to the post of ‘Subject Leader’ for MFL.
The successful candidate will support the Director of Learning in the development and leadership of languages within the faculty at key stage 3 and 4.
We currently offer both Spanish and French at key stage 4. We are looking to appoint a teacher who has experience of teaching both languages at key stages 3 and 4.
Working collaboratively with middle and senior leaders, the successful candidate will be supported to drive improvements in MFL. As part of a wider team of middle leaders, there are opportunities to lead on and drive a whole school priority.

A retention incentive is available for the successful candidate. This is a £1,000 payment at the end of the first and second years of employment with the Academy. A relocation package of up to £1,000 is also available.
The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our pre-employment checks.

Freebrough Academy is a secondary Academy with 800+ students, located in the village of Brotton, a picturesque village surrounded by the beautiful green backdrop of the North York Moors National Park and the stunning Heritage Coast.
On the border between Redcar and Cleveland and North Yorkshire, the Academy is approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) south-east of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, 12 miles (19 km) east of Middlesbrough and 14 miles (23 km) north-west of Whitby.
Freebrough Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school.
The Academy has embraced a period of challenge since the Ofsted inspection judgement in April 2018 and continues on its programme of school improvement. Led by a stable, effective Board of Trustees and with support from the CEO; the interim Principal and staff have made significant improvements which were acknowledged by a positive monitoring visit in September 2018.
