PSHE is a fundamentally important area of The Avon Valley School curriculum and aims to enable our pupils to have the information, awareness and maturity to make responsible and informed decisions; to recognise that their choices and actions will have consequences and to understand what those consequences might be.

They will demonstrate the ability to lead and develop the staff who deliver PSHE to ensure high quality of teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. They will have the ability to adapt to the needs of students. Good emotional intelligence and a passion for engaging students in learning are essential.
