About St Bede's Catholic Academy

St Bede’s Catholic Academy is a co-educational primary school in Newtown, Stockton-on-Tees, for children aged 3 to 11.

Head of school

Mrs Bernadette Rizzi-Allan

Values and vision

St Bede’s Catholic Academy aims to provide an excellent educational service to children, their families and the wider Catholic community. The school aims to enrich the learning and experience of all young people so they may achieve their full potential.

Underpinning the ethos of the school is the belief that a knowledge of and personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives meaning and purpose to the lives of students. The primary school believes itself to be a faith community where the Gospel values of truth, honesty, forgiveness and reconciliation are lived and where there is special care for those most in need.

St Bede’s Catholic Academy believes that its students are created in the image of God, and therefore aims to respect the unique and intrinsic value of every child by promoting equality and celebrating diversity.

Ofsted report

The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. The school is now part of the Carmel Education Trust and benefits from working collaboratively with other schools in this trust… Strategies to improve writing and mathematics have ensured that pupils are now attaining above other pupils nationally, in both key stage 1 and key stage 2.
