Start date: As soon as possible
Contract type: Part Time
Salary: £7,129 per annum pro rata
Contract term: Permanent

We are one of the top-performing colleges in the country, situated in the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton & Hove. Working here offers the combination of both a wonderful place to work and a great city in which to live. Our students and staff are colourful, aspirational and hard-working – which is perhaps why 96% of employees would “recommend BHASVIC as a good place to work” and many of our students go on to Higher Education.

We are seeking to appoint an IT-literate and self-motivated Support Assistant to work within our busy College Information Systems Department, supporting the team with the administration of our information systems. As the first line of support for parent, student and staff queries, you will need excellent communication skills, combined with an interest in working in an IT support environment. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn more about our systems and further develop their IT skills.

Join us and you can expect competitive pay and an excellent pension scheme, family-friendly working and a collaborative culture where ideas take flight together. Our Cycle to Work scheme, free counselling and occupational health service, discounted gym memberships and staff wellbeing events will keep you sharp, whilst our tailored induction programme and investment in your professional development – along with the possibility of funding for additional qualifications and to even take a sabbatical – will ensure an exciting future.

This is a permanent position, working 15 hours a week, 40 weeks per year during term time only (plus six days), Monday to Friday (exact hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate).

We will offer on-the-job training where necessary and this role has the potential for increase in salary scale dependent on skills and experience. The pro rata salary for this post is £7,129 per annum and includes 4.7 weeks of holiday pay. This salary is based on point 22 within grade 4 of the support staff pay spine for which the full-time salary is £18,494 rising to £20,458 over four years, subject to satisfactory performance.
