Agnew School is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Teacher Aide – Learning Support at our Darling Downs campus. This role is permanent, full time and available to start on 15 January 2018
This role, reporting directly to the Head of Campus, will be responsible for delivery of the learning support function to students within our secondary school, across grades 7-12, across all subject areas.
The successful candidate will be a team player, have a genuine love of working within a school environment, possess a patient and compassionate nature and a "can do" attitude.
The successful candidate will have previous experience with working with autism, and will take great job satisfaction in being able to positively contribute to a childs life via their learning journey, and be comfortable in stepping away from traditional classroom teaching practices to embrace modern teaching methods and technologies.
As the school has a strong faith based approach to life and learning, the successful applicant will also need to be able to respect and support this aspect of the lives of the students.
The successful candidate will be confident in working with secondary students, as well as primary as required, and previous experience with ODD and dyslexia would be preferred.
Applicants for this position must hold a relevant Teacher Aide qualification (minimum Cert III in education support) and be in possession of a current Working with Children clearance.
