We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher Assistant who will work closely with the Hospitality staff.

Duties and responsibilities include:
• Set up resources and consumables for practical lessons practicing FOOD SAFE standards in the kitchen. Returning all resources at the end of the lesson and clean up as requested by the classroom teacher. Ensuring all resources are correctly labelled and stored.
• Ordering of food resources online through Woolworths, Coles, butchers, and specialty stores. Do a physical shop on occasions when supplies are not sent during work hours. • Monitor stock levels, rotate perishables and order/reorder from suppliers as necessary including shopping on behalf of the Academic Leader.
• Routine washing and drying of clothes items including but not limited to aprons, tea towels, lab coats and sports uniforms.
• Liaise with suppliers to order items and ensure timely delivery of ordered items.
• Assists with the safe operation and routine maintenance of all equipment (eg cooktops ovens, microwaves, fridges) and resources and maintain a register of maintenance.
• Maintain a Safety Data Sheet Register for all substances.
• Maintain a stock take register of reportable and non-reportable items. Perform an annual stock take and report the outcomes to the Academic Leader.
• Monitor classroom resources and ensure that items are in designated areas after use, linen, soap, detergent, paper towels, etc.
• Assist with the cleaning of the pantry, junior and senior kitchens, ovens and other storage areas including refrigeration units.
• Assist with the organisation of department functions/events and other activities to showcase student work.
• Assist the Academic Leader with administration tasks including, but not limited to, the raising of orders through various suppliers, collating invoices and purchase orders and the payment of invoices.
• Assist with other tasks as directed by the Principal.
• Working with the Academic Leader, follow processes that ensure a high level of health and safety, cleanliness, food hygiene and safe working practices and report any issues to the Academic Leader.
• Attend a weekly meeting with Academic Leader to plan the flow of work.
• Assist with the implementation of the College OHS plan by ensuring that the first aid kit is maintained, and that appropriate safety and procedural signage is displayed.
• Due to OHS regulations enclosed shoes must be always worn.

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  2 August to 29 October 2021

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Working hours: 6.30am - 11.30am, 5 days a week.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School officer Level 2 - $28.16 per hour

Employment Conditions:  Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
