Teaching ServiceBerinba Public School is situated in Yass, which is a 45 minute drive from Canberra. The school has a current enrolment of 287 students with 12% being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school supports students with additional needs through differentiated learning programs, inclusion opportunities and four Multi-Categorical support classes. Our highly dedicated teachers are committed to implementing evidence-based practices in Literacy and Numeracy. The school is in its beginning stages of implementing Visible Learning across the school. The school provides a range of extra-curricular programs including: Dance, Drama, Choir and a variety of PSSA sports.
Berinba Public School is accessing COVID Intensive Learning Support Program with the implementation of intensive support programs to improve students academic outcomes.
We work closely with the local schools as part of the Binit Binit Learning Community and with groups within the Yass district.
- Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with demonstrated expertise to develop and deliver highly effective and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs that target the needs of learners.
- Excellent classroom management and an ability to develop a positive learning environment to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
- Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
- A willingness to enrich student learning opportunities beyond the classroom in areas such as sport and performing arts.
