Position Information 

Jamison High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school of 942 students. The school offers a broad academic and vocational curriculum that caters to the diverse educational needs of students. The school population includes 89 students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island background and 118 students from a language background other than English. Our Support Faculty was established in 2017 and it caters to the  specific needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In 2021 the Support Faculty will be expanding to include five classes.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach English Years 7-12 and a willingness to teach English Extensions 1 and 2.

2. Demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of dynamic learning experiences which are designed and differentiated to engage and support a diverse range of student needs and abilities.

3. Demonstrated ability to adopt a collaborative, strategic and reflective approach to designing, implementing and evaluating explicit teaching and learning programs.​​

4. Proven capacity to work as a team member and contribute to the attainment of faculty and whole school strategic directions.

5. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community and a willingness to work as a cohesive member of a team and participate in whole school initiatives.​

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
