Position Information 

St Johns Park High School is a proud comprehensive school of over 900 students, where more than 90% of students are from a language background other than English. The school has a strong reputation as a provider of quality educational services and outcomes for a diverse community. It includes a Special Education unit with five designated classes with mild to severe intellectual disability and autism. The school has highly motivated staff to support students’ academic, social and personal growth through a broad, relevant and innovative curriculum including VET pathways, High Potential and Gifted Education programs, Accelerated Mathematics and authentic Project Based Learning. The school is also well known in the community for its external partnerships with partner primary schools, agencies and the business community, strong student leadership programs and values driven wellbeing initiatives through Positive Behaviour for Learning. Our teachers provide a quality learning environment for students that draws on research-informed pedagogy. Teachers are involved in research, collaboration, data analysis and professional learning to continually reflect on and improve their practice.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach English (7-10) and English (11-12)
  2. Ability to work collaboratively with an innovative English faculty to support the development and implementation of high-quality teaching and learning programs.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships with students, staff, and the school community.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
