Founded in the 627AD, and located close to York’s attractive and historic city centre, St Peter’s is one of the oldest schools in the world, educating around 1,150 boys and girls aged 3-18 across the pre-preparatory, preparatory and senior tiers of our foundation. We are one of the leading schools in the north of England, performing at a high level academically and across our broad and exciting co-curriculum.
An innovative and creative teacher is required for October 2019 to cover the maternity leave of our current Head of Drama. Experience of delivering GCSE and A level drama is essential. Depending on the experience of the post holder, the appointment may be to the role of Head of Department or teacher of drama. The wider offering of drama in the school is an important part of our co-curricular programme. The successful applicant would be expected to support our current programme or alternatively, vary it according to his or her interests and expertise.
By mutual agreement, the hours will be between 0.8 and full time (21-28 40 minute lessons each week).
We are a thriving and vibrant community and the post holder must expect involvement in the full life of our school, including during evenings and at weekends. We offer a competitive salary based on the St Peter’s Teaching Pay Scale.
