Position Information 

This outstanding opportunity is located at the new Arthur Phillip High School. The school is part of the NSW Government’s major commitment to redevelop and expand Arthur Phillip High School and Parramatta Public School into new state-of-the-art education centres. Arthur Phillip High School is the first future-focused high rise city school in NSW. Arthur Phillip High School is situated in the progressive and rapidly expanding CBD of the City of Parramatta, bringing an exciting and dynamic energy to the school. The school is culturally diverse and has a student population of 1150 with 91% having English as an additional language or dialect (representing over forty distinct cultures). The contemporary facilities incorporate future-focused, flexible teaching spaces with adaptable/moveable furniture and room configurations. The learning spaces are technology-rich to serve multiple learning contexts from large class groups to small clusters, providing better opportunities for innovation, collaboration, personalised and individualised learning. The contemporary design incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) areas, fitness labs for physical education classes, and wet and dry studios for music instruction and practice.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach History (Years 7-10), Ancient History, Modern History and Society and Culture. 

Demonstrated capacity to effectively differentiate learning experiences to engage, challenge and inspire diverse learners using future focused pedagogies.

Ability to adopt a collaborative, responsive and flexible approach when designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative teaching and learning programs suitable for a 21st Century learning environment.

Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
