Position Information 

Sefton High School (enrolment 1085 including 95% from non-English-speaking background) is a co-educational, academically selective school with a parallel community stream intake. The school is characterised by a focus of high expectations of all students and staff. Quality, evidence-based teaching and learning in a highly structured, disciplined learning environment permeates the school which is recognised and supported by the community. This results in students demonstrating excellent standards of attendance, academic achievement, conduct and personal growth. Students and staff combine to enjoy a wide range of co-curricular activities, notably in debating, leadership events and sport. Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Business Studies, Commerce, Economics and approval and/or willingness Legal Studies.

  2. Demonstrated ability to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments to engage and support a diverse range of students through the implementation of quality teaching strategies.

  3. Demonstrated capacity to create differentiated units of work to engage and challenge students identified as high potential and gifted.

  4. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
