This post will initially be based at Swain House Primary School in Bradford

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

We are seeking to recruit a creative, innovative and experienced Qualified Teacher of the Deaf who can lead a team of professionals teaching and supporting Deaf pupils across the Low Incidence Team in the Local Authority Led Resourced Provisions (LARP). This post will initially be based at Swain House Primary School in Bradford.

As the Teacher in Charge, you will lead effective and efficient provision for Deaf pupils at Swain House Primary School, Local Authority Led Resourced Provision to:

·      Provide strong and outstanding leadership, supervision and line management for a range of teaching and non-teaching staff and work with the service leadership team in all matters arising from policy, families, staffing, finance and administration and multi-agency working.

·      Work with the school and other professionals to secure and sustain effective teaching and learning for children and young people who are Deaf, raising awareness of the needs and rights of these children and young people.

·      Ensure that a cohesive, flexible and responsive service is able to deliver efficient and effective outcomes to meet the individual needs of all pupils for whom the service has responsibility at Swain House Primary School.
