About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Law and Politics Teacher to join our team. Within the School of Public Services at Leeds City College we offer a range of study programmes across levels 1 to 3 to over 375 learners.

Our curriculum offer includes:

  • A brand new T Level in Legal Services starting in September 2025. 
  • Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3 Diplomas for entry to the uniformed services. 
  • Level 1 Introduction to Youth Work, a programme developed in partnership with CATCH, a leading third sector organisation in the city.
  • Bespoke 19+ cohort of learners looking to gain qualification to enable a change in career. 
  • Opportunities to work in collaboration with our partners, West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Services and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and the armed forces. 
  • Bespoke training opportunities for our staff to further develop skills for career development. 
  • Amazing opportunities to take students on visits and experiences. Our instagram page will allow you to see some of these opportunities.

What You Will Do

We are looking for someone with the passion and skills to deliver topics such as:  

  • UK Legal Systems & Uniformed Services.
  • Understand the impact of war and conflict on uniformed services. 
  • The influence of the UK government, international organisations and the media on the uniformed services. 
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion.

 About You

  • Level 5 teaching qualification. 
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum.
  • A passion for subjects that might include law, politics, history and equality and diversity.  
  • Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
  • Recent teaching delivery which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
