Position Information 

Emu Plains Public School is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains serving a well-established Western Sydney suburban community with several generations of families having attended the school.

The current enrolment is 400 students, with 18 classes, including 2 multi-categorical classes. 10% of students are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 10% are from language backgrounds other than English. The Reconciliation Action plan is regularly reviewed in consultation with the AECG to best support students, community and cultural needs.

The school has a strong focus on quality teaching, differentiated learning and collaborative practices, and creating a positive learning environment where every student is known, valued and cared for. Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary) in regular and/or support classes with demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that are inclusive and maximise student engagement.
  2. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with classroom teachers to design, implement and evaluate differentiation practices for students with a wide range of additional learning needs, including individual and group evidence-based interventions to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing. ​
  3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, building positive, authentic relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and members of the wider community, supporting a culture of inclusivity.
  4. Well established understanding of school wellbeing programs, with a strong emphasis on trauma informed practices and use of evidence-based strategies to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing. 
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
