Teaching ServiceSt Georges Basin Public School, enrolment 390 students, includes students in 3 multi-categorical classes, students from Defence Force families and 15% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Students at St Georges Basin Public School are provided with a range of opportunities and learning experiences, delivered by highly qualified and experienced staff. KidsMatter, literacy and numeracy are key focus areas.
Our school has excellent programs which provide strong foundations for future learning. The school is well resourced, has excellent learning facilities and is recognised for outstanding academic, sporting and performing arts achievements.
Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) and approval to teach library or currently undertaking or enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by NSW Department of Education.
Ability to lead the library as a future focused learning hub utilising information communication technology (ICT), as well as promoting a love of literacy and literature, while managing school resources and library procedures, including knowledge of the Oliver library system.
Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the whole school community to improve student learning outcomes.
Excellent classroom management and an ability to develop a positive learning environment to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, students, families and community with an emphasis on student engagement.
Willingness to support extra-curricular programs within the school and work as a collaborative member of the teaching team.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.
This is a permanent part time position for 4 days per week 0.8FTE (Full-time equivalent)
