About the Role

An excellent opportunity exists for a Teacher Librarian with preferably a HSIE background to join our enthusiastic team at Trinity Catholic College Goulburn. The Teacher Librarian is both a teacher and an information manager. They should have a knowledge of pedagogy, information literacy, literature for young people, current curriculum and differentiated learning. 

Essential Criteria

  • An understanding and commitment to the Church’s mission in Catholic Education and the capacity to contribute to the spiritual and community life of the school.

  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.

  • The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with the legal, administrative and professional requirements including classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students with a variety of learning needs.

  • A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning including a comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.

  • Skills in maintaining an efficient and thorough system of identifying, organising, circulating and retrieving resources, specifically utilising the Oliver library system.

  • Interest in developing knowledge of information, resources, technology and library management, so as to provide quality reference and information services to the school community, particularly subject teachers.

  • An understanding of library collection management including purchasing, budgeting and culling to ensure a balanced and rich collection to meet the needs of students and staff at Trinity Catholic College Goulburn.
