Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Art to join a school based in Brighton and Hove.

This school has an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to join their driven and experienced Art department. The successful candidate will deliver Art to highly motivated girls in Key Stage 3 and 4 (Year 7-11).

Art is taught in mixed ability groups, in classes of around 20 pupils. Full schemes of learning are already in place.

The successful candidate should have the capability to teach a wide range of Art techniques, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. This is part-time role across at least two days a week.

Please ensure that you state any additional subjects you can teach in your application, along with letting them know what sort of part-time allocation you are seeking.

Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and they reserve the right to close this vacancy early, should a suitable applicant be found.

Why join?

The school has embarked on an exciting new chapter and a period of rapid change. A new development is underway, which will reunite the Prep and Senior schools onto one site while creating innovative working spaces within the school’s iconic buildings and enhanced green spaces around the school.

The school already has a significance in the history of girls’ education and a new future-focused vision aims to build on this in unique ways which will see the fusion of the classroom and the community. Drawing on the school’s location in the heart of the city of Brighton & Hove, the school’s identity is as eclectic, enterprising, and creative as the city itself.

They can offer a variety of benefits, which include:

  • Competitive salaries and pay progression
  • Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  • Training grants for qualifications
  • Generous pension schemes
  • Free life assurance benefit
  • A discount of up to 50% on fees for children
  • Interest free loans for training, computer purchase loans and travel season ticket loans
  • A Cycle to Work scheme
  • Competitive terms and conditions of employment

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview during the week commencing 6th May 2024.
