Job overview
To start in September 2019, we are seeking to appoint a full time qualified teacher to join our very successful Art Department in both the curriculum and super curriculum. The ideal candidate must have a good University Art degree and a portfolio of their own work, with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent). You must be capable to teach Art from the 1st Form (Year 7) up to A Level and best Art College application standards.
Art is a popular choice at Kimbolton. Last year 78% of our A level candidates were awarded A* to A and 57% of our GCSE candidates were awarded 9 to 7, with 70% of them gaining 9 to 6. 100% of our GCSE candidates gained 9 to 4. The new teacher’s role will be to help maintain and improve upon this standard.
In addition to the teaching, the successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in the activities of the Department which includes annual overseas trips into Europe and a 3 day residential trip to Burwell in Cambridgeshire for all Sixth Form artists.

About Kimbolton School
Kimbolton School was founded in 1600 and is set amongst 120 acres of stunning grounds of Kimbolton Castle, in the West Huntingdon town of Kimbolton. The School currently educates almost 1,100 children aged 4-18 in a co-educational, predominantly day environment, although there are approximately 45 boarders. The Senior School is located around Kimbolton Castle while the Preparatory School is housed to the west of the village on the original Grammar School site.
