Teacher of Art

Salary: MPS/UPS (suitable for NQTs)

Required for September 2018

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Art who is dedicated to providing the best possible opportunities to our students. Our focus is always on student progression and attainment and the successful candidate will be committed to achieving this.  You will have the ability to inspire, enthuse and encourage students to enjoy their learning, leading to a desire to achieve their highest potential.  This is an exciting time to join our school and help to raise the levels of attainment and aspirations of all of our students.

The new principal has a clear vision for improving the school. The staff spoken to by inspectors are buoyant in their attitudes.

Pupils look smart in their uniforms. Pupils were polite and courteous to inspectors.

Leaders are persistent and tenacious

Green shoots of improvement are evident.

Ofsted April 2018

Your new school

Park Lane Academy is a small state of the art school with 500 students and fantastic facilities. Both students and visitors to school tell us that Park Lane has a ‘family feeling’ about it. We pride ourselves in the fact that we are a learning family. Our staff know and support every student through the challenges which education can bring to them.

We were delighted to welcome our new Principal in September 2017 and are excited to see the rapid programme of improvements and development already taking effect. She brings 25 years of experience in education and has a proven track record of supporting schools in challenge as well as spending 5 years on the leadership team of an ‘outstanding’ school. She is absolutely committed to improving the opportunities for all our students and staff.

Our exciting future

In summer 2018, Park Lane Academy will join in partnership with South Pennine Academies Trust to raise levels of attainment and aspirations of all students. As our sponsor, the Trust is very well placed to create a unique institution characterised by high achievement and success. The Trust has a national reputation for excellence and has a solid track record of partnership working with employers, universities and local schools.  The Trust is being led by our CEO Jane Acklam OBE, who alongside being honoured by the Queen for her services to education, was also winner of Head Teacher of the Year for the North of England previously.

We are confident that new teachers joining us will feel welcomed and happy and we encourage prospective applicants to visit school prior to applying.

To have an informal, confidential discussion, to arrange a visit and to find out how to apply, please contact Paula Read at Hays Education on 0113 200 3710 or paula.read@hays.com

The closing date for all applications is 9am Wed 20th June

Interviews to be held as soon as possible after this date

Park Lane is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment; an enhanced DBS check will be required.
