We value our staff and students highly, and invest heavily in their development, support and wellbeing.  Situated in Leyland, Lancashire, the College is near the M6, M61 and M65 and within commuting distance of Manchester, Liverpool and the Lake District.

We are seeking an outstanding teacher to join our high-performing Applied Science team.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record as an outstanding classroom practitioner, with experience of teaching BTEC Applied Science at Level 3 and/or A Level Biology. We also welcome applications from teachers who are at an early stage in their teaching career.

The School of Science is a large and extremely successful School, with outcomes consistently well above national benchmarks, and high levels of student satisfaction.  The department offers A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geology, as well as a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science, Foundation Year Entry Medical Sciences and Laboratory Technician Apprenticeships.

The teaching team in the School of Science comprises 20 teaching staff, working with four science technicians.  In total, over 1000 students study a Science course at Runshaw.  Students benefit from an exciting range of additional enrichment opportunities, which equip them to progress in high numbers to prestigious university courses such as Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.
