Graveney is an extremely popular and successful 11-18 School, located in South West London, SW17 with the benefit of being situated in beautiful campus style surroundings with excellent facilities and a warm community atmosphere. We have a commitment to providing the best opportunities to all students and to developing the professional skills and career aspirations of our staff, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
At Graveney, we are committed to delivering a broad and exciting curriculum to all of our students. We are a school with the highest aspirations and ensure exemplary standards of behaviour. We consistently achieve outstanding examination outcomes at both GCSE and A level; however, we believe in far more than academic success. Our curriculum encompasses a full range of experiences that will develop our students into confident, resilient and successful young adults with the prospect of a great future. In an increasingly digital and automated world, we believe that studying Computing is vital to ensure our students can access the future job opportunities in this field. Therefore all students study the subject until Year 9 and we are proud that many students opt to continue this into GCSE and A level.
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed teacher who can teach all Key Stages to join our large, supportive and successful Science department.
Sciences are very popular at Graveney and consequently we have many students who continue studying science to A-level. There are currently over 200 students studying A-level Biology therefore you will be expected to teach at all key stages.
We have high expectations of our students with many aspiring to medicine or Oxbridge applications. At Key Stage 4, most students study separate sciences and staff only teach within their subject specialism.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher to work in a supportive and energetic team. The successful candidate will need to have excellent subject knowledge, be an outstanding teacher who is keen to develop their practice, and bring continued success to our students.
This vacancy is to provide experienced maternity cover to the Biology department and is therefore not suitable for ECT applicants.
This is an event-linked maternity cover position starting at the beginning of spring term January 2022, for the duration of maternity cover
The selection process will take place ‘in person’ and will comprise a lesson observation and panel interview.
