Job overview

Tockington Manor is committed to safeguarding and, consequently, a thorough safeguarding screening will take place. Appointment will be subject to successful completion of all statutory checks, including a DBS check.

Tockington Manor School is a thriving, family orientated, stand-alone independent preparatory school situated in an idyllic location just north of Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team. The Headmaster and Governors of Tockington Manor School seek a talented teacher to teach History, a variety of boys’ sports and General Subjects.

Tockington Manor School has seen its roll rise by 43% in the last four years. As well as a new upgrade to our computing facilities, the school boasts a large new astro turf with five tennis courts, a 25 metre indoor pool and 28 acres of beautiful sports grounds. We will also be opening a completely refurbished Pre-Prep and brand new Music and Performing Arts Suite in September. This is, therefore, the ideal role for an ambitious teacher looking to further their career.

The new teacher will be expected to teach History from Year 5 to Year 8 and have an understanding of the Common Entrance requirements in this subject. They will also be expected to be able to teach Core subjects in Key Stage 2, should the need arise, and be able to take teams in Football, Rugby and Cricket.

Tockington Manor is a small yet very busy school and a desire to become involved fully in school life is essential.

The vacancy has arisen due to the current incumbent retiring with effect from July 2018.

Closing date for applications is Saturday 17th February. Interviews will be on Thursday 22nd February with a start date of September 2018.
