Job overview
TEACHER OF BUSINESS
Permanent, Full-Time, MPR/UPR
Required for September 2024, a well-qualified teacher of both GCSE and A-level Business. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our experienced, established and well-resourced department. The post is suitable for either an ECT or teacher with experience.
Business continues to be one of the most popular options at both GCSE and A Level. Many of our students go onto study Business in higher education or secure apprenticeships in the fields of accounting, marketing and human resources. Business is one of our most successful departments both academically and in the field of enterprise. With 5 Young Enterprise teams reaching the national finals events in recent years, the opportunity to get involved in enterprise events will be available.
The department has two dedicated classrooms, with access to computers. We also have an Administrative Assistant supporting the department daily, helping with photocopying, printing, classroom displays etc. which helps manage teacher workload.
The Nelson Thomlinson School is a high performing secondary school on the fringe of the Lake District in Cumbria. Ofsted’s most recent visit in October 2023 highlighted our strong traditions and a school where pupils (and staff) are proud to live out its values. NTS also has a dedicated Professional Development department where opportunities for staff development and training are made a priority.
Please complete the application form on our school website and either post or email it to admin@nts.cumbria.sch.uk for the attention of Mr DS Northwood, Headmaster.
