Due to growth in our provision, we are looking for two Teachers of Business to join our vocational business team at The Roundhouse. This iconic campus has a Starbucks and Costa Coffee on site, is great for transport links, a short walk from the centre of Derby and situated next to The Derby Train Station.
You will be qualified to degree level in a Business-related subject and if you currently teach, will hold or be working towards a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd). If you are new to teaching, we will provide full funding and support to achieve your teaching qualifications.
We are looking for professional individuals who are ready to provide innovative and dynamic teaching delivery to meet the needs of our post-16 students and prepare them for the next stage of their life. As part of a vibrant and high performing team you will also have excellent teamwork, organisation, administrative and interpersonal skills.
You will be working closely with management, colleagues, and students to ensure students reach their full potential and excel. This includes being responsible for planning schemes of work, lesson delivery, providing effective feedback, liaising with parents/carers, and working closely with employers.
The roles can be available on a full-time or part-time basis, and we will discuss this with successful applicants at interview. Provisional Interview Date: 04/07/2022
Interview format: You will conduct a 20-minute micro teach, followed by a panel interview. This will be conducted in person at The Roundhouse. You will also be given a tour of the campus and opportunity to meet the team.
About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
