Job overview

The Sixth Form is an interesting and exciting place to be right now. We’re working on enhancing the student experience and expanding our offer, building on the already solid foundations we have in place. A recent re-branding was the start of a series of initiatives to ensure that life at The Sixth Form continues to be varied, vibrant, inspiring and fulfilling and we look forward to refurbishing our Sixth Form Centre this summer to create a contemporary, professional space for our students, bridging the gap between school and university.

Recognising the value and relevance of studying Business Studies, we plan to continue offering both A Level and BTEC Level 3 courses from September 2022. We are therefore looking for a proactive and dedicated professional to teach this subject, on either a full time or, as we value flexible working, a part-time basis.

As the sole teacher of this subject, there is the opportunity to take a lead and help shape the future of this subject at NSG and a TLR may be available for this, to be discussed at interview. We are committed to caring for and supporting the development and growth of all our school community, students and staff alike. This is at the heart of our school ethos.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is a state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. Our school community is multi-faith and multi-cultural with students coming from rural and urban settings. We continue to be one of the best schools in Northamptonshire and this is reflected in the high standards and expectations we set for both staff and students.

At NSG you will have access to an outstanding CPD programme, which will enable you to continue to develop and grow as both an excellent teacher and leader. In return, we expect that you will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to provide high-quality teaching; you will be a like-minded individual who will promote our ethos of respect and inclusion for all.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students. We are working to create an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and are empowered to do their best.

If you have any questions, please email us:  people@nsg.northants.sch.uk

For further information please visit: www.nsg.northants.sch.uk/vacancies/

Applications are accepted via the school application form (available on the vacancies page) or via TES QuickApply. Please contact the school if you need to request the application form in an alternative format.

Closing date: 9.00am, Wednesday 25th May 2022

Interviews: Thursday 26th or Friday 27th May 2022

We would encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are able as we reserve the right to act on received applications before the closing date has passed.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a criminal records check, via the Disclosure & Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by NSG.  Details of our safer recruitment policy can be found in the school policies section of our website.
