Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Chemistry to inspire pupils throughout the school from Year 9 to 13.

Chemistry is an impressive and cohesive department within Bryanston School and, for the right candidate, opportunities exist to teach both A-Level and IB courses in the sixth form. The appointee will be a strong classroom teacher, or a recent graduate who shows the potential to become an outstanding teacher. A willingness to contribute to the further development of this highly successful department, under the guidance of the Head of Chemistry, is essential.

Bryanston School offers an exceptional working environment, which includes a competitive salary, state-of-the-art facilities, wide-ranging prospects for development and the benefits of joining a very experienced team.

This is a full-time post and we welcome applications from NQTs and experienced teachers from both the independent and state sectors. The school has an induction programme in operation for NQTs.

Enthusiasm to be involved in helping with the running of a boarding school, contributing to extra-curricular activities and games will be an advantage.

About Bryanston School

Bryanston is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, set in a beautiful 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. It includes Bryanston Prep School, a co-educational day and boarding prep school in the neighbouring village of Durweston.

Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
