A well-qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science is required for a permanent contract. The start date is negotiable.
The thriving Computer Science and ICT Department is made up of two full-time and two part-time members of staff. The Department runs very successful examination courses in GCSE Computer Science, GCSE ICT, CIDA, A Level Computer Science and BTEC ICT all of which are heavily over-subscribed. The department also offers extra-curricular programme activities such as Lego Mind Storm.
We are specifically seeking a Computer Science expert to lead on developing innovative teaching and learning and on ensuring academic excellence for our talented and able students. Experience of teaching Computer Science up to A Level would be desirable.
George Abbot School is a large 11-18, mixed comprehensive, situated in the pleasant Burpham area of Guildford, within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. It is a forward looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust. We also have Teaching School status.
