We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher with the ability to teach from KS3 to A Level to start in September 2018. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with either product design or textiles backgrounds. Design and Technology is a vibrant and continuously changing subject as well as a rapidly developing subject in the college, with a range of new technologies and projects being introduced. The successful candidate is expected to keep up to date with developments in the subject and be able to contribute to further department progress, helping to ensure the department remains at the forefront of excellence in design and technology. Candidates should have demonstrated success in their current role, be a highly motivated and successful practitioner and be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of college life. Health and safety is obviously paramount and an up-to-date health and safety certificate would be beneficial.
The department follows a balanced design and technology program at Key Stage 3, in line with the National Curriculum. At Key Stage 4 students opt to take AQA Product Design (Technical Products) or AQA Product Design (Technical Textiles). At A Level students follow the AQA AS/A Level Product Design specification.
A high standard of written and spoken English is an essential requirement for all our positions.
