The College seeks to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic technology teacher to join our secondary team at Cromwell Community College. You will need the ability to teach both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and there are also opportunities for teaching Key Stage 5.
At Key Stage 4 we offer Design Technology, Engineering and Hospitality and Catering, and Product Design in Key Stage 5. We welcome applications from candidates who can teach in any of these areas. The technology department is a well-resourced and has a team of experienced and skilled teachers, supported by two technicians.
We are an oversubscribed, and successful school and the number of pupils opting to take a technology subject at GCSE and A-level are increasing each year. If you are ambitious and passionate about technology and recognise its importance for the development of all pupils and will strive to provide excellent results in our already successful department, we would like to hear from you.
We were recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted but are striving for Outstanding. We recently become an all-through school, the first in Cambridgeshire, and have pupils from age 4 – 18. The addition of our primary phase, over the coming years, will also provide lots of additional opportunities for staff to work in the primary phase as well as the secondary and Post-16.

About Cromwell Community College
Cromwell Community College is a co-educational secondary school located in the market town of Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. It educates around 1,100 pupils aged 11-18. The school became a comprehensive in 1969 and converted to academy status in 2012.
Over the years, Cromwell Community College has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation, with the most recent project completed in 2012. The school has its own sixth form, with dedicated facilities and study areas for post-16 students.

“Pupils enjoy a wide choice of subjects suited to their abilities and interests. The most able pupils are steered towards three sciences, humanities and foreign languages to enable more of them to gain the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) qualification. A small proportion of less-able pupils follow a curriculum matched to their needs and abilities in order to develop their literacy and numeracy, promote their social skills and study qualifications suited to the workplace.”
