Teacher of Drama (Ampleforth Youth Theatre)
Ampleforth Youth Theatre began in January 2017, providing high quality, affordable performing arts tuition to children from the local community. Lessons in dance, drama and singing are taught on Saturday mornings. AYT is growing bigger with each term, with many exciting opportunities, including performances and shows, planned for future progression.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic drama teacher to join our team. The role will involve teaching children aged between 5 and 11 on Saturday mornings throughout term time. Classes run between 10.15am to 12.45pm and are split into two groups: a primary group, aged 5-7 years old, and an intermediate group, from 8 to 11. Each group has a 45 minute lesson in dance, drama and singing.
The successful candidate will have a degree in drama or a related subject. While a PGCE or equivalent is not essential, previous experience of teaching drama to young children is required.
The closing date for applications is Friday 15th December 2017 and interviews are anticipated to take place in the New Year.
The Ampleforth Abbey Trust, St Laurence Education Trust and its Schools are committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
