Do you want to play your part in transforming lives through education?
Withernsea High School is an integral part of the local community. By broadening the horizons of our students through an excellent and relevant education we strive to prepare them for exciting and varied futures where they can thrive as respectful and responsible people.
To help us realise our ambitions we welcome applications from teachers who are not just passionate about their subject and committed to the profession, but those who seek to learn about and understand our young people and the community we serve.
Withernsea High School is a smaller than average local authority maintained secondary school situated in the area of Holderness. This has the advantages of a spacious and pleasant rural location, on the coast. There is affordable housing in the town of Withernsea and in the surrounding villages house prices are relatively low.
The school benefited from a rebuild and refurbishment in 2016 and as such is spacious, modern and fully resourced, with the vast majority of teachers enjoying their own large classroom.
You will join staff who are thoroughly committed to working hard for our young people. Like you, they are determined to drive forward change by doing the right things and doing them well.
We believe that by working together we achieve more.
Applicants should possess an enthusiasm for and have experience in the areas of Food Technology. The post will include a full range of classes from all years 7-11. The department delivers DT lessons on a rota to all students in Years 7 and 8 and the successful candidate would be expected to deliver some aspect of this. From year 9 we offer Level 2 Food Qualification and this is a very popular option, generally having 2 groups following the course each year.
We would accept applications from those with the relevant qualifications and experience of working in the food industry who may be employed as an instructor.
Recruitment & Retention allowance/Relocation incentive may be available for the right candidate.
If you would like an informal discussion about the post you are welcome to telephone the school and speak to Mr N Bullock (Head of DT)
