The Governors of Reading School wish to appoint a well-qualified graduate of economics to join a flourishing Economics Department and complement the expertise, enthusiasm and commitment of our team. 

Economics is one of our most popular GCSE and A Level choices and is highly valued by the whole school community. The reputation of the department is second to none, for example in September 2017, over 90% of economics students at Reading School gained A*-B grades at A Level and 85% gained A*-A grades at GCSE. A very high proportion of these students go on to selective universities to study an economics related undergraduate degree programme.

This role would suit an individual who is a reflective and collaborative practitioner, who has a comprehensive grasp of the conceptual frameworks of the subject and who can share their enthusiasm and expertise with intellectually curious students. We would welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds and experiences, with teaching experience being less significant than an up-to-date understanding of economic theory and its applications, combined with the willingness and ability to apply this knowledge within the confines of the rigorous A Level and GCSE specifications.
