Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Engineering, who can teach KS4 and KS5 Engineering to join our University Technical College (UTC). The post could be tailored to suit a candidate that has a product design, maths or physics experience. The courses offered are OCR Cambridge National Level 2 and BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering Level 3.

The UTC opened in September 2015 in a new state of the art building. This is not only a relatively new school, but a new approach to educating 14-19 year olds; which is possibly the most exciting change in the education landscape in decades.

All students at UTC Oxfordshire specialise in either Engineering or Science subjects; at 14 they will also study a broad and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist with A levels in Physics, Mathematics, Computing, Biology and Chemistry. In addition, students can study a specialist BTEC Level 3 course in Engineering or Applied Science. At capacity, we will be educating 600 students who will all have a passion for Engineering or Science; it truly is an inspirational environment.

This role will provide you with:

  • Focused teaching – only teaching KS4 and KS5 classes.
  • Small class sizes.
  • Passionate students.
  • Opportunities for career development as the UTC grows and across Activate Learning Education Trust (ALET).
  • An opportunity to be at the forefront of STEM education.
