English is the central part of every pupil’s education at Brighton College. As the main language of learning, through which almost all other subjects are taught, its strength is fundamental to success in all subjects, at all levels, for all pupils.
The English Department in the Senior School is characterized by a strong sense of collaboration and the restless pursuit of outstanding pupil progress. Applications are invited from first rate English practitioners who hold a relevant degree, at least two years of teaching experience and a clear understanding of teaching at Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE and A level. We are looking for someone who blends creativity and rigour in the classroom, is highly committed and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.
Many of our full-time teachers are also House Tutors. All members of staff are expected to provide extra-curricular activities and will also be required to contribute to the wider community life of Brighton College.
