Potential TLR2a to lead Film & Media Studies

We require for January 2018, a dynamic and innovative teacher to join our exceptional English, Media and Film department, based at a World Class School. The person appointed will join a strong and highly successful team which consistently achieves results well above the national average at all key stages. We prepare students for GCSEs English Language and Literature; A Level English Literature, GCSE and A Level Media Studies and GCSE Film Studies.

The successful candidate should be able to teach throughout age and ability ranges. The department is outstanding and embraces, with enthusiasm, any developments in teaching and learning. All members of the department make major contributions to the extra-curricular life of the school through enrichment activities which include theatre trips, organising visiting speakers, working with professional writers and taking part in the BBC School News Report.

All colleagues in the departments are encouraged in their professional development as part of the school’s Appraisal system. We welcome applications from NQTs.

St Albans Girls’ School, age range 11 – 18 is an Outstanding school (Ofsted February 2013) with over 1250 students. We are a highly regarded, oversubscribed and friendly all-ability school. GCSE results place us in the top 100 secondary schools in the country and the top 2% nationally for student progress.
