The Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic highly motivated teacher of English from January 1stt 2019 (negotiable). The postholder will teach across the full age and ability range and specific duties will be negotiated with the Head of Department

Fearns Community Sports College is a co-educational school based in Lancashire for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school.
An extensive amount of refurbishment at the school was carried out in 2013. A wireless network was implemented to further aid teaching and learning. A parent portal was also introduced so that parents can monitor, in real-time, the progress of their child.

Fearns Community Sports College is continuously looking for ways of enhancing the academic and social development of its pupils. Thus, every year it offers pupils the opportunity to take part in a broad spectrum of visits to local, national and international venues. These include annual ski trips to Europe or the USA, foreign Language trips to France, Germany and Spain and theatre visits to Manchester and Stratford upon Avon.
The school believes its sports college status not only promotes excellence in sport, but also encourages an aspirational ethos throughout the whole curriculum. Pupils are taught to strive to go ‘further, faster, and higher’ in all aspects of their learning.

“There is an excellent careers, education and guidance programme which has contributed to almost all pupils moving to appropriate post-16 courses or training. Teaching in religious education, music and physical education (PE) is good. Most pupils feel safe in school and look smart in their uniform, including their PE kit.”
