Job overview
Working within a Faculty of the school, the teacher will teach and support the learning of pupils in accordance with the policies of the Faculty and the school. Teaching will consist of classes at all levels and stages, including Personal Development. Success in the teaching responsibilities of the post will be determined by the improved outcomes, participation and successes achieved by the young people for whom the teacher is responsible.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council and the cost of this check which will be deducted from your salary.

Lornshill Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in the town of the town of Alloa in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. It is a comprehensive state school that is associated with seven primary schools in the local area. A larger than average size for a school of its type, the school website reports a student roll of 1,130 secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 12-18.
A new school building opened in 2009 with a new set of facilities, including a fully equipped school theatre, modern IT suites and dance studios.
