We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate to teach English throughout the School. The successful candidate will have a good degree and not only have excellent subject knowledge, but be innovative and creative in sharing a love of literature inside and outside the classroom. The English department is consistently one of the most successful and influential departments in the School, also enjoying engagement in the wider community, not least its links with poetry journal ‘Agenda’.

The position would suit an NQT, someone looking for their first move or an experienced teacher. Training, support and ongoing mentoring will be provided by an outstanding department with a proven track record of inspiring girls of all abilities not simply to enjoy English but to be able to use language accurately and effectively.

Mayfield is a leading Catholic Independent boarding and day School for girls aged 11-18 situated in beautiful East Sussex countryside, less than 50 miles from London and 40 minutes from Gatwick.
