Job overview

Teacher of English (Inner London Allowance)

This is your opportunity to join a welcoming, diverse and extremely successful English department. Our team is looking for someone who can help support us in our mission of ensuring that all students realise their potential and help instill the belief that, through hard work, their minds can grow and they can learn to achieve. Our vehicle to help us reach our destination is the intricate and intimate power of the English Language set cheek by jowl with the wondrous beauty and inspiration sparked by English Literature.

Our community school has a collegial and welcoming atmosphere for students and teachers alike. This is balanced with a vigorous approach to developing our approaches to pedagogy and curriculum over the three key stages. We are department that is always learning and always developing.

In addition to an atmosphere of creativity wherein we cultivate a love of English, our approach has also facilitated strong student progress (70% 4+ in Literature and 75% 4+ in English Language).  We balance our love of our subject with the needs and demands of external exams.

If you are seeking a school wherein you could make an impact on the lives of the students of Poplar and Bow, if you are a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic teacher, if you are looking to work collaboratively to develop your own practice alongside the teaching practice of others, if you know that learning occurs in a calm, well-ordered environment with carefully planned moments of discussion, reading and writing, then Langdon Park School is the place for you.

Langdon Park is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A DBS enhanced disclosure that is satisfactory to us will be a condition of appointment.
